Lilias Ann Crosland, Hone, Whiting, 84 passed away Sunday July 13, 2025 in Cedar City Utah.
Ann was born December 24, 1940 in Holden Utah to George Mathew Crosland & Clara Emeline Stephenson.
Ann was welcomed into the family on Christmas Eve by 2 older brothers and an older sister that mothered her and took such great care of her throughout thier lives. She loved and took great pride in being the baby of the family. She loved being raised in the small town of Holden Utah where she attended elementary school and made many friends.
She helped her dad on the farm throughout her early life, driving tractor and truck in the fields and spending long hours by the side of her brother Ivan and her dad.
She attended High School at Millard High in Fillmore. After high school she married Stephen Hone and moved to Salt Lake City and had the opportunity to attend beauty school. While married to Steve they raised their boys while living in Gunnison, Nephi, Cedar and Montrose Colorado.
Ann was blessed with three boys, Craig, Chris and Ron, and was the very happiest when she was able to support them in the high school sports they were all involved in. Wrestling was always her favorite and was so proud to see them excel. This support and interest trickled down to the grandkids and she was so excited each time she was able to go watch them in whatever they happened to be participating in at the time.
Stephen and Ann were later divorced and she married Ken Whiting and moved to Las Vegas. While married to Ken they travelled often to the southern states and she grew to love the people in the south.
Ann was lucky enough to have 8 grand kids that she loved more than just about anything. They were the joy of her life and she took every opportunity to visit, support and love those kids. We have those kids to thank for keeping her young, active and on the go.
Ann was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the gospel and had a strong testimony and love for her Savior. She held many callings and fulfilled them to the best of her ability. She attended the Temple as often as she could and would bear her testimony of the Savior and the Temple every chance she had.
Ann was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Her pioneer roots ran deep and she was so proud of her pioneer heritage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ralph and Ivan and a sister Virginia. I’m sure the reunion with them was unimaginable. She often said how much she missed her family.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Craig (Karen) Hone, Chris (Jonell) Hone and Ron Hone. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandi (Jacob) Hamm, Ashley (Tanner) Crofts, Kami (Justin) Patterson, Zach (Jonie) Hone, Brieanna (Jimmy) Oldham, Cody (Codie) Hone, Amberlee (Trevor) Peterson and Dusty Hone. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren.
Ann was a great example to her kids and grandkids and there will definitely be a huge hole that will be hard to fill. She will be missed but she will never be forgotten and will hold a special place in the hearts of her family.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 18, 2025 11:00 am in the Cedar Valley Mortuary Chapel . A viewing Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday morning 9:30-10:30 am, prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Holden City Cemetery later Friday afternoon.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Cedar Health and Rehab, Ethan Bunker of Mission Hospice, Bryan Randall and staff of Cedar Valley Mortuary and the many friends and neighbors for their loving care. There are many and their love and support did not go unnoticed.
