Circleville, Utah
David Allen Robinson, age 77, of Circleville, Utah, returned home on May 7, 2026, surrounded by his family. David was born on June 7, 1948, in Denver, Colorado, to Leland and Marjorie Robinson and was one of nine children.
Growing up in Colonia Dublán, Mexico, David excelled in high school basketball, serving as team captain in 1968. He continued his athletic career for a year at Taft Community College before finishing at Imperial Valley College. His talent for building and creating was legendary, as was his gift for making sure everyone around him was laughing and having a great time. David spent many hours working on the farm and tending to horses alongside his father. Some of his favorite childhood memories revolved around a homemade car he pieced together from gathered parts—a testament to a lifetime of creating memories for himself and his family.
David was known for having a unique knack for fixing nearly anything with just a can of WD-40 and some black grabber screws. He spent his days doing what he loved: fixing, building, creating, and sharing his knowledge with family and friends. For more than 40 years, David and his wife and best friend, Tresa Ann Savage, spent their days side-by-side, working hard and raising their family. David found joy in the simple things: a cold can of Dr Pepper, a drive on the mountains with the windows down, and any moment his children walked through the front door.
David was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He shared his testimony with his family, ensuring they always knew where his heart and beliefs stood. He worked hard throughout his entire life and was well-known for the beautiful houses he built and the countless hours he spent in his woodshop crafting log furniture. As a true artist, he often told people, "If you can draw it, I can build it." His work can be found in houses and cabins throughout the western United States.
One of his strongest character traits was his ability to help anyone. David was always willing to help and give whatever he had without a second thought.
David’s greatest legacy was his family. He fought for them and made sure each of them knew how important they were to him. He is survived by his wife, Tresa Robinson; his children, Brad (Kandi) Robinson, Breanna (Jason) Peterson, Stacey (Dustin) Shakespear, Stephanie (Karl) Allen, Colby (Ariana) Robinson, and Korey Robinson(Sarah Mench); as well as 25 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Marjorie Robinson, and his daughter, Brandi Nielson.
His family takes great comfort in the knowledge that families are eternal and that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, they will see him again. The family wishes to sincerely thank Cedar Valley Mortuary for their care and assistance.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the Circleville LDS Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Circleville Town Cemetery. Compassionate services will be provided by the Circleville 1st Ward Relief Society.
