Cedar City, Utah
Gerron "Gerg" H. Parry, a lifelong resident of Cedar City, Utah, departed this plane of existence on August 1, 2026. Born on January 7, 1938, Gerron lived an extraordinary 88 years filled with creativity, adventure, wit, and talent. From his birth in Cedar City to his final days, he never stopped creating, always finding new ways to put his hands and imagination to work. Over the years, his talents ranged from painting houses and etching intricate designs on ostrich eggs to cutting and polishing rocks.
Gerron had more hobbies than most people have time for, and he seemed determined to try them all. His adventurous spirit led him to ride motorcycles, hunt, hike, fish, and collect rocks of every shape and size. When he wasn't outdoors, he could usually be found turning raw materials into works of art through woodworking, silversmithing, lapidary, and leatherworking. Gerron was an extra in the Western, "They Came to Cordura." He even had a knack for building fireplace stoves.
Above all else, Gerron loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his sister Sandra Matheson, children: Collette Jablonski (Dale), Dale Parry (Mary), Calvin Parry, Devon Parry (Dawn), Sheila Parry, Michelle Gertsema (Craig), and Beverly Sherratt (Michael), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Gerron was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Parry and Thora Heap, his wife, Terry Parry; his former wife, Avon Kelley, and his siblings, Ronald, Lyle, Leland, Michael, and Susan.
In honor of Gerron's adventurous spirit, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Join us in celebrating Gerron "Gerg" Parry.
