Jerry Hafen

–

Beryl, Utah

Jerry Lynn Hafen Sr, age 59, passed away on August 19, 2025 in Beryl, Utah.

He lived a life marked by both struggle and love. He never pretended to be someone he wasn’t. His honesty and unapologetic way of being were defining parts of who he was. Though he battled addiction throughout his life, he remained true to himself and never hid his truth from those around him.

When he was present, he was a wonderful father. Some of the greatest childhood memories his children hold are of time spent with him, moments full of laughter, adventure, and love that will live on long after his passing.

He was born to Charles Moroni Hafen and Mary Evelyn Voyles Hafen. He is survived by his siblings: Emily, James, Shannon (Kay) Campbell, and Heather (Ciro) Giammona, as well as an extended family of many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is survived by his children: Jerry Lynn Hafen Jr., Crystal Robynn Hafen, Rosalee Angel Hafen Ladd, Charles Alexander Hafen Rubio, and Jason Scott Hafen Rubio.

He was also a proud stepfather to Shalie Renae Deuel, Erica Nycole Rosenlund, and Jesseka Dawn Glenn.

He was a loving grandfather to Braylon, Breezie, Porsche, Bryleigh, Jack, Luxston, Vallie, Kaizlie, Brazen, Liam, Raelynn, Wiley, Jasper, Auren, Margaux, and Dahlie.

Beyond his family, he found joy in life’s simple but meaningful pursuits. He loved traveling, music, fishing, hunting, and trucking, but his greatest passion was gardening. Whether on the open road, by the water with a fishing pole, or tending to the earth with his hands, he carried a spirit of adventure and a love for creating and nurturing.

He also had a wild side. He loved to go fast, go 4x4ing off road, and live life with intensity. One of his favorite stories to tell was about the time he was involved in a high-speed chase, a tale he shared with anyone willing to listen. That untamed energy was a part of who he was, and those who knew him will always remember that spark.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Moroni Hafen; his mother, Mary Evelyn Voyles his brother, Richard Lee Hafen; and his grandparents, Weston and Fern Hafen and Hyrum and Mildred Voyles.

His life was imperfect, but it was real, and he was deeply loved. He will be remembered with both honesty and affection by those who knew him best, a man who found peace in the garden, adventure on the open road, and joy in living life in the fast lane.

A private service will be held for family, with a celebration of life planned at a later date.
