Rhea Hatch

–

Cedar City, Utah

Rhea Fisher Hatch was born on August 30, 1930 to John Floyd and Nellie Jeanette Sinclair Fisher in Rigby, Idaho in the home of her paternal Grandmother Lucinda Amelia Cady. Rhea is an identical twin sister of Rita Fisher Phippen. She was born six minutes after Rita and always said “I tagged along behind Rita ever since.” When “the twins” were born they had one older sister, Iris Jeanette. Seven years after “the twins” the 3 sisters were joined by their fourth sister, Marie. Rhea’s parents and all her sisters proceeded her in death.

Rhea was working as a bookkeeper in a bank when she met William Harry Hatch on a blind date that was set up by her good friend Geneva (Chin) Wood when Bill was in Idaho Falls Idaho umpiring for the Pioneer League. They married on 29 March 1958 in Idaho Falls. Bill’s umpiring years took Rhea across the USA and to Venezuela. After umpiring Bill had many jobs including working in bowling alleys. This lead to Rhea working as the Playroom Attendant, League Coordinator and behind the Desk for many years at different bowling alleys in Southern California.

Bill and Rhea have 4 children: Rita Michelle, Alice Carlene, Kathryn Ann and William Kendall. They were all born in Idaho and then the family moved to Southern California in 1966. Bill and Rhea retired to Cedar City, Utah in 1996. Bill passed away there in 2005 followed by Michelle in 2014. Rhea passed away in Cedar on June 2, 2026. Rhea will be buried in the Cedar City Cemetery next to Bill and Michelle.

Bill and Rhea are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were sealed in the Los Angeles California Temple on July 11, 1987. They served together as Missionary Apartment Coordinators and Ward Magazine Representatives in their retirement.

Rhea is survived by her children Carlene, Kathy and Kendall; son-in-law Jeffrey; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

We express heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Dr. Todd Garrett, her primary care physician; Ethan Bunker, her hospice nurse extraordinaire; Maia, her hospice CNA; the rest of the Mission Home Health and Hospice Staff; for their loving care of Rhea and their support to our family during her final days. She desired and received a peaceful graduation!

We also greatly appreciate Brian Randall and his team at Cedar Valley Mortuary for their loving careful assistance in planning and carrying out our Mother’s final wishes.
