Bill Grimm

–

Parowan, Utah

William Lee (Bill) Grimm passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 25, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, to Theadore and Betty Grimm.

Bill was a cowboy at heart. From the age of five, he dreamed of riding horses—and he worked hard to earn his first. From that moment on, he always had at least one horse in his care. During his senior year of high school, his family moved to Prescott, Arizona. In 1970, Bill enlisted in the Army and served as a mechanic during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he worked in several National Parks, packing supplies on horseback.

Over the years, Bill wore many hats—saddlemaker, dude wrangler, farrier, worked in construction, and more. He loved a good adventure, especially when shared with his brother Jack. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1975, and in 1977, he met his “Forever Love”, Debbie Quain, at a church dance. They were married on September 17 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple and went on to raise five children together.

Bill was known for his tireless work ethic, his desire to help others, and his unwavering testimony of the gospel. He was always quick with a warm hug and a kind word. Truly, he was a man among men.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pat Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Grimm; his brother, Jack and Kathy Grimm; and his children: Wes and Heidi Grimm, Lee and Amanda Grimm, Dove and Michael Jorgensen, Loy and Taj Heaton, Con and Marissa Grimm, along with 20 beloved grandchildren.

The family would like to express deep gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and caregivers who provided care throughout Bill’s illness. A special thank you to the staff at Zion’s Way, especially Rachel Atwood, whose compassion, dedication, and gentle support made a lasting difference in his final days.

Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Summit, Utah, Church building. Visitation with family will take place at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
