Curtis Chamberlain was born in Cedar City, Utah. He’s the sixth child of Royce and Alene Chamberlain. He grew up on the East side of Cedar City when the town was much smaller. Curtis always stated it was the very best neighborhood; with the creek, city parks, the mountains, ballparks, and even the downtown area, all within a short bike or skateboard ride.
Curtis graduated from Cedar High School and then attended Southern Utah University, majoring in Business with an emphasis in Small Business Management. It was at SUU that Curtis met and married his sweetheart Michelle Spackman. Curtis and Michelle raised 5 beautiful girls and they have been privileged to welcome 5 special grandchildren into the family.
Curtis and his family enjoy the outdoors. Camping, ATV riding, and fishing have always been in their plans when time permits. He also enjoys family reunions, and just about any excuse to get together with those he loves the most. Curtis has always loved gardening and can often be found in his greenhouse, nurturing his latest variety of vegetables. Cooking is also a passion, and he often spends Sunday afternoons creating special meals for his family and friends.
Although he has been involved in many business interests, Curtis maintained a part time job at Cedar City Hospital for 25 years. He loved patient care, and often was able to help and comfort families at a most difficult time. His compassion and concern for others made him a respected contributor at the hospital.
Curtis only recently resigned his position in the hospital, devoting more time to his family. He states, however, that he has greatly missed his work there, and being able to help those in his community at a challenging time in their lives. Cedar Valley Funeral and Cremation is a new opportunity to be of service to his neighbors and friends, and Curtis is ready to be in that role once again.
Curtis states he’s pleased to partner with Bryan and Spencer in this important endeavor. Each has a compassion and love for their community and their neighbors. Please reach out to Cedar Valley. They’re ready to help in any way they can.
